Asian Medical Students' Association - West Visayas State University

The Asian Medical Students’ Association – West Visayas State University (AMSA-WVSU) is a student-run, non-stock, non-profit, non-government association and a local member organization of the Asian Medical Student’s Association – Philippines.  It represents medical students from WVSU – College of Medicine who have applied and were screened to be a member of the Local Member organization.

The Local Member Organization shares the same ideals with the National Member Organization, AMSA-Philippines, which are the following:

Mission, Vision and Objectives:
1. It shall exist to empower medical students to have a greater awareness and understanding of their critical role not just as future health care providers, but also as influential leaders of society capable of inspiring change.
2. It shall promote awareness and instill a sense of responsibility among medical students about relevant social issues that affect health, medical practice, and the health care system. 
3. It shall serve as a channel for professional and research exchanges with its international affiliates to further expand its members’ knowledge and clinical skills, and for them to be able to apply such knowledge and skills in the local setting.
4. It shall aim to develop a culture of academically competent, global-oriented, culturally-sensitive students of medicine who can serve as role models in the health profession.
